General Information on the Shamanic Journey

24 May 2022 by Embracing Shamanism

Shamanic journeys are commonly practised with the aid of some percussion: drums, rattles, sticks, stones, body percussion such as clapping of hands etc. A monotonous rhythm supports the shaman to get to what is referred to as a ‘shamanic state of consciousness’ meaning a slightly altered state that allows the shaman/practitioner to drop into a place of peace of mind in order to journey into other realms. There are three different areas that we can journey to within non-ordinary reality. This is a cross-cultural experience. Upper world Middle world Lower world The upper and lower worlds are spiritual realms only and it is utterly safe to journey to them and to explore them. The middle world is both the spiritual reality of this physical world, and the spiritual dimensions of that physical world. Learn more and experience the shamanic journey on our introduction weekends.
